Donald Trump has shown that smartphones and other appliances imported from China to the US will face tariffs, which will hit the hopes of respite for large companies such as Apple, Nvidia and Microsoft.
“No one has “goes off the hook” due to unfair trade balances and the non-financial tariff barriers that other countries were using against us.
His administration on Friday ruled out mobile phones, chip-making equipment and certain computers from the steep “mutual tariffs” that were seen as a major boost to the technology group, whose stocks plunged after Trump unleashed the World Trade War on April 2.
