Investor Brad Gerstner warned Openai on Monday nvidia and AMD It’s purely an announcement, not a development.
“Now we’ll see what’s being delivered,” the founder of Altimeter Capital told CNBC. “In the end, the best chip wins.”
Openai’s Megadeal with AMD and a relentless push to expand its artificial intelligence capabilities highlight the fiercely competitive landscape.
Gerstner said the deal provides “more evidence that the world remains calculated despite our best efforts to provide large supply online.”
Experts say that it is another test that AI heats up, and that AI is a key element of geopolitical race between the US and China.
Openai’s Chinese rival Deeppeek sent Shockwaves last year when it claimed it had a lower cost AI model than its US peers. DeepSeek also continues to innovate, offering new open source models using domestically created AI chips.
Last week, the US government issued a warning about Deepseek’s national security concerns, Axios reported.
According to AXIOS, the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s AI Standards and Innovation Center said Deepseek offers China’s Communist Party’s views more frequently than the US model.
Openai’s partnership with AMD is hoping to take the right steps to increase production and build more complex AI models.
“What we really see is a world with absolute lack of calculations, because there is a lot of demand for AI services not just from Openai, but from the entire ecosystem. “And that’s why it’s so important that this whole industry gathers together.”
