Google has introduced Gemini 2.5, the latest experimental artificial intelligence model. Ranked 2nd in the competitive leaderboard of AI-led web development tools.
On March 25th, Google announced that developers could try out the Gemini 2.5 Pro. The company describes it as a thinking model and can reason through thought before responding.
Google said this will improve both accuracy and performance, especially in coding, science and mathematics tasks. Gemini 2.5 said it could support more context-enabled agents.
Google shared that the new AI model has tops the charts of reasoning and knowledge, science and mathematics, citing self-reported data compiled by the AI benchmarking platform Larena. Google described Gemini 2.5 as “the most intelligent AI model.”
Google’s new model ranks second on the Web Dev Leaderboard
Google’s new AI model ranked second in the WebDev leaderboard of Lmarena, a real-time AI coding competition in which models compete in web development challenges created by the AI benchmark platform.
The AI model’s arena score was 1267.70, surpassing its competitors such as DeepSeek, Grok and ChatGpt. Still, the top spot went to the human AI model Claude 3.7 Sonnet.

CHATGPT dominates the AI Tools market
While many companies are working to improve model performance, Openai’s ChatGPT continues to dominate the AI tools market.
In 2024, AI chatbots recorded over 40 billion visits per year, representing nearly 40% market share. Data from the AI Statistics and Usage Trends platform Aitools.xyz Overall showed that AI Tools Market made 101 billion visits a year. Canva’s AI generator came in second place, earning a market share of 10.25% with 1.04 billion visits.

Recently, new candidates have emerged in the AI tools market. In February, data showed that Deepseek’s AI tool had risen in popularity and is now ranked third with a market share of 6.58%. Deepseek is also ranked number one on the trend list, with a growth rate of 195% and 792 million visits.
Nevertheless, CHATGPT continues to dominate the space, with a market share of 43% and monthly visits in February.
