Astronomers, a provider of open source technology that was barely known until this week, said on Friday that CEO Andy Byron had taken a leave of absence in an intimate embrace with the head of relationships, appearing in the video at a Cold Play concert.
In an emailed statement, the company said co-founder and product chief Pete DeJoy is serving as interim CEO.
“We will share details as needed in the next few days,” the company said.
Astronomer said in a post on X earlier in the day that he launched a “formal investigation into the issue” and could be shared immediately.
“Our leaders are expected to set standards in both conduct and accountability,” the company said.
Byron’s update is the day after the video went viral on social media, where the CEO showed the CEO on the big screen at a concert in Boston. Married Byron had his arms around Christine Cabot, the company’s chief talent officer.
A few seconds after it was displayed on the screen, the pair covered their faces and hidden them.
