Alex wanted to let you know about the new services Monkwell offers. We see great new opportunities for LinkedIn business leaders. Of course, it’s mainly about getting new jobs or getting sober people you don’t know with exciting services they don’t want. But we are now seeing something more.
Opportunities arise from the toxic nature of other social media. Posting to X risks it will be deployed in Vitriol. But with determination and persistence, you can use LinkedIn to build a serious audience for your business, your ideas and, most importantly, yourself. It’s a lot of work, but the advantage is that you can become an influencer without having to film yourself in Dubai. LinkedIn doesn’t call you an “influencer”, but you call you “thinking leader.”
One survey (by the company) shows that 85% of FTSE CEOs have a LinkedIn presence. It’s still entirely about self-promotion, but you can position it as a brand building tool for your business. I use it more myself.
We worked with a super smart woman called Lisa (CC-D) with years of social media and influence experience, including LinkedIn, and of course, with our clients and, of course, our internal communications team on this. Please let me know if you are interested.

That’s great news Alex. Lisa and I look forward to working with you on this. While we’re building your follow, it may involve a lot of activity. Some people post constantly, but you are a C suite and we want people to notice and read your output, so a little more rarity would be desirable. Lisa recommends some planned posts, topics you’ve been thinking about, and advice on how others can learn from what you’re doing. People love to read about your work days. How you think about the big issues, and all of this is an opportunity to sell yourself and your business.
And we throw in some topical stuff – for example, how can we turn cards into opportunities? Is Day the door now? (Though that’s dangerously interesting to LinkedIn.) Posts don’t need to be long – two or three soft pars are fine. Commenting on other people’s posts builds your followers, but unless the person you want to follow you is really a big name, I don’t do too much. LinkedIn only networks upwards.
Obviously, people are looking for this to be the real you, so given the pressure on your time, you might want to consider hiring someone you can trust as your authentic voice.

Ah, don’t worry about that. It’s LinkedIn, no one expects authenticity.

whatsapp to Alex: Hello Alex, I’ve seen the post. There’s a great start, but you’re wondering about some of the works that the women you hire are posting to your authentic voice. There’s a lot to read a little like corporate press releases. Spread it out. Opinions about working from home work work well. Do you have anything about what you learned from your child? Or your visit is somehow unusual and exciting. “When I looked down (insert the landmark here), I couldn’t help but think.” Get your authentic voice and give yourself a little more.
Whatsapp to Alex: If you don’t have time, have them find some other posts worth scraping off a few other posts. Concern: Some of the real voice posts sound like a 25-year-old junior employee. Just check it out, is your real voice happening to be a 25-year-old junior employee?
whatsapp to Alex: She is. I see. Would it be better to get someone who looks a little more like you? Do you like Sabrina Carpenter? Can you give her a name for her song?
Whatsapp to Alex: Alex, a little problem. Your authentic voice appears to have her own LinkedIn profile. This isn’t entirely useful and could leave you open to ock ha ha. Can you explain to her the concept of ghostwriting?
whatsapp to Alex: Yes, you might get faster if you do it yourself. You can try it. Lisa is happy to check things out for you.
whatsapp to lisa: What did he post? How appropriate is that joke? Would you like to check with someone?
whatsapp to Alex: Yes, I saw a backlash. Let’s reorganize it next week. Perhaps authenticity is not something we should aim for.
