Tech Company Meta hired Trapit Bansal, a former leading researcher at the artificial intelligence company Openai.
According to TechCrunch, after the addition of Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov and Xiaohua Zhai, Bansal is the latest former Operanian researcher to join the meta team.
Adoption is part of the meta driving to overhaul the functionality of inference models by expanding AI operations and training AI in real-world scenarios to nurture Intelligence. Metachief AI scientist Yann Lecun previously said:
“There are four essential characteristics of the intellectual behavior that all animals, or relatively smart animals can do. And they are certainly human. They understand the physical world, have persistent memories, can reason, and can plan complex behaviors, especially hierarchically.”
Meta’s AI development has become a top priority for governments around the world earlier this year, making it a priority to win international AI races.

Meta is leaning heavily towards AI with stock acquisitions, energy trading and defense partnerships
In June, META acquired a 49% stake in Scale AI, a data labeling company that serves the AI platform, valued at nearly $15 billion.
As part of the purchase, Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang will join Meta to collaborate in further AI development.
Facebook’s parent has signed a 20-year nuclear energy contract with power provider Constellation Energy to receive 1.1 gigawatts of electricity to promote AI data centers and infrastructure.

According to a June 3 announcement, the energy will be sourced from the Clinton Clean Energy Center at Constellation in the US state of Illinois, and delivery will begin in 2027.
Anduril, a defense contractor specializing in artificial intelligence and autonomous systems, partnered with META in May to develop an augmented reality headset with the US military, powered by AI.
The headset will integrate Anduril’s Lattice platform, an AI-powered information system that organizes tactical battlefield data from a variety of sensor and weapons platforms, into comprehensive sources in an announcement on May 29th.
