Netflix On Wednesday, its cheap, ad-supported tier has 94 million active users each month. This is an increase of over 20 million since the last public tally in November.
The company and its associates are increasingly leaning towards advertising to increase the profitability of its streaming products. Netflix first introduced its advertising support plan in November 2022.
Netflix’s ad support plan costs $7.99 a month, and a sudden discount of $17.99 a month from the most expensive ad-free plan.
“When we compare us to our competitors, we get more attention and a lot higher,” Netflix advertising president Amy Amy Reinhard said in a statement. “More impressive members pay just as much attention to mid-roll ads as the show and the film itself.”
Netflix also said the cheapest tier would reach 18-34 years of age than US broadcast or cable networks.
