Musical artist Drake made a lyrical reference to Bitcoin (BTC) on Saturday with a new song entitled “What Did I Miss?”
The hip-hop artist had previously wagered $1 million at BTC on the outcome of the 2022 Super Bowl, Championship American Football game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams.
Drake’s mention of Bitcoin, and the distinctive volatility of the supplied assets, appear in the song’s first poem.
“I’m looking at this shit like BTC, I’m down this week, and then I’m going to wake up next week. If you love me, I won’t give you fuck. If you like me, I won’t give you fuck. I can’t say I wasn’t surprised.”
References to Bitcoin in songs, long-term television shows and other popular art forms show that digital assets are growing in popularity as they are split into inches towards mainstream culture and mass adoption.

When will the mass adoption of Bitcoin finally occur?
In 2022, Bitcoin Mining Hardware Provider Blockware predicted global adoption to reach 10% by 2030. The company predicted based on the adoption curve of previous paradigm-shift technologies such as automobiles, electricity and the Internet.
River, a BTC financial services company, released a report in March 2025 showing that around 4% of the world’s population owns BTC, with digital currencies still accounting for less than 1% of the total address market in terms of adoption.
The report also found that developed countries tend to have a higher adoption rate than developing countries.
Institutions’ adoption of Bitcoin is a major theme in the current market cycle, reorienting companies such as Strategy and Metaplanet to become Bitcoin financing companies.
Other agencies employ small amounts of Bitcoin to protect corporate reserves from inflation, hedge against geopolitical risks, and fragmentation created by globalization deformation.
Bitcoin investment vehicles, including funds (ETFs) traded on exchanges, are removing technical barriers to the entry of independent and on-chain transactions through the major drive of institutional and retail businesses to Bitcoin.
