Federal prosecutors have accused top real estate agents Tal and Oren Alexander and their brother Aron of drugging and raping “dozens of victims” over a period of more than a decade.
The brothers were arrested Wednesday in Miami on sex trafficking charges related to the alleged assault.
They are charged with sex trafficking conspiracy and sex trafficking of victims by force, fraud or coercion, according to an eight-page indictment in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. Tal Alexander faces additional charges of sex trafficking of a victim by force, fraud, or coercion.
Aron and Oren’s attorney, Isabel Kershner, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the unsealed federal indictment.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has scheduled a press conference regarding the arrest in Manhattan for 1 p.m. ET.
Several women have filed lawsuits in Manhattan accusing their brothers of sexual assault. The brothers deny any wrongdoing.
David Gottlieb, an attorney for the plaintiffs in many of the civil lawsuits against the Alexander brothers, said in a statement: “We are pleased to hear that some form of accountability for the Alexander brothers and justice for the many victims will finally be provided. ” he said. .
“I applaud all the survivors who, after years of pain and suffering, had the strength and courage to speak out about their unimaginable experiences,” Gottlieb said.
