Tesla The shares won nearly 6% on Tuesday after weekend CEO Elon Musk repeatedly made repeated intentions to return home to his business ahead of the launch of the latest SpaceX Rocket.
In a post on social media platform X, the billionaire wrote that X, artificial intelligence company Xai, should launch “critical technology” for Tesla and launch “critical technology” with a temporary suspension heel.
“Major operational improvements need to be made, as evidenced by the uptime issue this week,” he wrote, adding that he will return to “open 24/7” at work. “The failover redundancy was supposed to work, but it wasn’t.”
The weekend halt has temporarily shut down a social media platform previously known as Twitter for thousands of users, according to the Downdetector. Earlier in the week, the platform suffered data center shutdowns. X has undergone a series of suspensions since Musk purchased the platform in 2022.
Musk previously showed plans to prioritize his business by moving away from his political activities.
During Tesla’s April revenue call, he said it would “significantly” reduce President Donald Trump’s government’s efficiency.
In the final election cycle, Musk dedicated time and billions of dollars to political causes and elected Trump in 2024. But the weekend story from the Washington Post cites sources who are well-versed in the issue, saying Musk is disillusioned with politics and wants to go back to managing his business.
Over the weekend, Musk posted “My My My My My My My My My My My Best” in response to a post by X-user about Doge and his efforts to crack down on government efficiency. Last week, he said in an interview at the Qatar Economic Forum that he plans to spend “a lot less” on donations for upcoming campaigns.
Comments from Musk will precede SpaceX’s Starship Rocket on Tuesday evening. The company is under pressure after two spacecraft rockets exploded in January and March.
Ahead of the launch, Musk announced that he will host the All Hands Live Stream at X at 1pm. He later posted that Ogawa had been postponed until Starship Flight 9 was released.
Tesla is still facing fallout from masks’ political forays in protest with showrooms and other brand damage.
According to the European Association of Auto Manufacturers, Tesla sold 7,261 cars in Europe in April, down 49% from last year.
