Quintenz served as CFTC Commissioner between 2017 and 2021 as part of the Technology Advisory Committee.
US President Donald Trump is reportedly considering leading former CFTC commissioner Brian Kintenz.
Quintenz, who served as Republican commissioner on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission during Trump’s first term in the White House, is currently in Andreessen Horowitz’s A16Z Crypto He is the head of policy at Arm.
If Quintenz is confirmed to lead the agency, he is expected to drive a change in Procrypt. These will help establish the CFTC as a regulatory authority that is prioritized over the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In January, Trump nominated CFTC commissioner Caroline Femme as acting committee chair. Advocating the digital asset regulatory framework, Pham promoted the “regulatory sandbox” in the US in 2023, setting the basis for the emergence of new technologies for digital assets and pilot programs.
