Tokyo/Bengaluru – Wealthy Asians have long seen the United States as the biggest destination for investing their capital, at least until President Donald Trump imposes strict tariffs on his trading partners and challenges the independence of the Federal Reserve.
The US economic growth, political stability, and strong relationships with its allies helped the country attract capital from around the world. But three months after Trump’s second term, the president is increasing the chances of America heading towards a recession. It’s been pushed in that direction by Trump tame his trading partners to his tastes and, more surprisingly, by the massive tariffs he uses to shake up the post-World War II international order.
